Installation and Programming

Green Light Computing’s employees are professionally certified in IT project management. We follow the methods outlined by COMPTIA to oversee your project to completion. We believe proper communication, documentation, accountability and professionalism are key to the success of your project.

Site Survey

After the planning meeting, we will follow-up by physical visual inspection of your site. Here we can gauge if everything is in place and ready for the work to be performed. This helps us verify that the timeline remains on track also. After the survey, we notify stakeholders whether the work is on track or if there is something that may change the timeline or scope of work.

Data Gathering

During the initial meeting and throughout the planning process, we will request the data necessary to program your system. This will include your items and prices, applicable tax rates, logo(s) and other design elements, et cetera. It is important to note that we encourage our customers to provide as much accurate information as possible because the data you get out of the system is only as good as the data you put into it.

Database and System Review

Once all your information is entered into the system, we will meet with you to review it before it goes live. We want to make sure it’s exactly the way you want it.

Live Support

Now that the system is in place you are ready to begin using it. Your first day with your new POS system is a very important one, which is why we will be with you every step of the way to ensure all employees are comfortable with your new system. We will also follow-up with you in the days following your installation.

Planning Meeting

“Measure twice, cut once.”  The most important part of any execution is the initial planning phase. We will meet to plan out the unique details of your project with you. This includes reviewing the work to be performed to establish a scope and to stay within budget. Here we plot timelines within your schedule and come up with a communication plan. We review site plans together to coordinate network cabling and hardware placement.

Hardware Staging and Setup

We take care in putting together your system in advance to test everything. That way when it arrives on install day you are ready to go.

Database Development

After the data is received, Green Light Computing will program your system with the same care and attention we would give to our own. This approach traces back to our belief to “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.


When the database is complete, we will return to train all key staff members on the system. Once the key staff is trained, Green Light Computing will assist you in training the remainder of your staff based on their respective positions. We believe that training is an extremely important step. It makes switching over to the system so much simpler and minimizes growing pains. Learning is the key to success.

Delivery and Site Installation of All Equipment

Once all cabling and electric has been put in place, Green Light Computing will install the point-of-sale system and/or network.

Extended Support Contracts

Green Light Computing offers customized extended support contracts for all point-of-sale platforms we sell. Both hardware and software coverage is available 24/7 including all holidays. Contracts also include on-site labor allowing you to focus on your business and customers.
